For injectors

The injector apprenticeshipTwelve weeks, one on one, in Draper, Utah

An injector apprenticeship in Utah for licensed clinicians at any stage: brand new to aesthetics, or injecting for years and ready to get genuinely good at it. One apprentice at a time, in my clinic, on real cases, with every skill signed off before you move to the next. Plus the business side nobody teaches you.

Tuition $9,950. 12 weeks. Injectables only.

Why this exists

Weekend courses teach dots. Faces do not come in dots.

Most injectors finish their training with a lot of points memorized and very few faces behind them. Strong upper face, nervous lower face, and filler that never quite touched bone. That gap closes with time beside someone who will tell you the truth, case after case.

I have been in aesthetic medicine for twelve years, New York before Utah, and I wrote the Tracy Technique, a peer reviewed approach to the upper face published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology. This is how I would want to have been taught: slowly, specifically, and with the reasoning out loud.

Who it is for

New to injecting, or years in. Both work.

Same twelve weeks, same tuition, same standard to graduate. What changes is where you start.

New to aesthetics

You hold a license and would rather start right than start twice. We begin with facial anatomy, product handling, reconstitution and safety, then your first supervised injections, and build from there at the pace your sign offs allow.

Already injecting

You have a course or a few years behind you and gaps you can name. The day one baseline shows where you actually are, so the twelve weeks go to those gaps instead of repeating what you already do well.

How it is structured

Three phases, each closed by a gate

You do not touch a new area until the gate before it is signed. Time in the program does not graduate anyone. Signed competencies do.

  1. Recalibrate. Weeks 1 to 4.

Day one sets your baseline, whether it is your first injection or your thousandth. New injectors start with anatomy, product handling and safety. Then the upper face, built or rebuilt around the Tracy Technique: muscle belly placement, the frontalis in thirds, the glabella and lateral orbicularis as one system. Consultation, treatment planning and a timed vascular occlusion drill.

  2. Expand. Weeks 5 to 8.

The work most courses skip. Lower face and neck toxin: DAO, mentalis, lip flip, gummy smile, masseter, platysma. Then filler on bone: cheek, chin, jawline, prejowl, temples. Lips refined until restraint is the skill.

  3. Launch. Weeks 9 to 12.

Sculptra and full face plans across visits, complications and hard conversations, then supervised days where you run the chair and I stay out of the way. Week 12 is the capstone.

Reasoning out loud, every case

The ladder

Every skill climbs the same five steps

I sign and date each step on your competency record. To graduate, every core skill reaches step 4, and the safety skills reach step 5.

1. Observe

You watch, and you can explain what was done and why.

2. Assist

You prep, mark, draw up, photograph and chart.

3. Hands on

You inject with me guiding the hand or the plan.

4. In the room

You plan and inject. I watch and step in only if needed.

5. Independent

I would let you treat this area on my own patients.

Week by week

What the twelve weeks cover

Each week pairs a clinical theme with a business theme. Your patient list follows the clinic schedule, so the theme sets the teaching focus and the homework.

The business track

A live practice, not a slide about one

Sixty minutes a week, kept separate from clinic time, and every session ends with one thing you ship before the next. I built and sold a six location practice before this one, so you get the playbook from someone who has run it.

Positioning

Who your patient is, why they pick you, and a bio and Google listing that say so.

Getting booked

A consult that ends in a plan, a booking link that works, a review routine that runs itself.

Content

Pillars, photo standards, consent for marketing use, and a posting rhythm you can keep.

The numbers

Product cost, time per service, pricing, retention, and what your chair has to earn in a day.

Straight answers

Apprenticeship questions

Who is the apprenticeship for?

Any licensed clinician who can inject in Utah, new or experienced: physicians, PAs, NPs, RNs and dentists. No prior aesthetics course is required. If you are new, we start with the foundations. If you have been injecting for years, we start with your gaps. Either way, what you leave with is judgment.

I have never injected. Is twelve weeks enough?

Enough to build a safe, solid foundation in the core areas under direct supervision, and to know exactly where your limits are. Completion is decided by signed competencies, not the calendar, so at every checkpoint I will tell you honestly where you stand.

Will I inject real patients?

Yes. Your supervised cases are model patients booked on your clinic days, who pay product cost. I examine and order every treatment, you inject under my supervision, and the chart says who did what. Every model consents in writing to being treated by an apprentice.

How much time does it take?

One full clinic day a week for 12 weeks, plus a 60 minute business session each week. From week 5 a second clinic day is included when my schedule allows it.

What does it cost?

The tuition is $9,950, paid in full at signing. ACH or debit preferred. It covers your clinic days, the business sessions, all teaching materials, your competency record, the capstone and your certificate. You carry your own malpractice coverage, which is required, and you cover your own travel.

Is this a certification?

No, and be wary of anyone who sells you one. You finish with a Certificate of Completion, a signed competency record and your case log. Your scope of practice is still set by your license and your state, not by any course.

How do you decide when I graduate?

Signed competencies, not time served. There are checkpoints at weeks 4 and 8 and a capstone in week 12: a practical across toxin and filler, a full face case presentation, and a 90 day launch plan. If a checkpoint is not met, the next phase starts with remediation instead of new areas.

Do you cover threads, PRP or lasers?

No. The apprenticeship is injectables only: neurotoxin, hyaluronic acid filler and Sculptra. Twelve weeks is enough time to get very good at those, and not enough to get very good at everything.

How do I apply?

Email drbentracy@gmail.com or text (801) 701-8078. Tell me your license type and state, your training so far, what you inject now and when you would like to start. If it looks like a fit we talk, and then a written training agreement covers the schedule, conduct, confidentiality and terms before anything is paid.

Tell me where you are and where you want to be

Your license, your training so far, what you inject now and when you would like to start. I read every one.
